Location

Cowes is located on the west bank of the estuary of the River Medina, facing the smaller town of East Cowes on the east bank.

The town of East Cowes has a small shopping centre, a seafront promenade, and a marina. It is the location of Queen Victoria’s famous summer home, Osborne House.

Cowes has a lively atmosphere, particularly in the summer months with sailing events, festivals, and many restaurants and bars.

A chain ferry called the Cowes Floating Bridge links East Cowes and West Cowes.
